Mbappe's goal came in the 39th minute, as he finished off a clinical counter-attack. However, Benzema equalized for Real Madrid just five minutes later with a low drive into the bottom corner.
Benzema put Real Madrid ahead in the 76th minute, heading home a cross from Vinicius Junior. He then completed his hat-trick in the 81st minute, tapping in a rebound after Thibaut Courtois had saved a shot from Marco Asensio.
The victory gives Real Madrid a significant advantage heading into the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu on 9 March. PSG will need to score at least three goals to progress to the quarter-finals.
