Jackson Was a Two-Time All-Pac-12 Selection Who Was Drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the Fifth Round of the 2022 NFL Draft

Khyree Jackson, a former Oregon cornerback who was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, died Saturday night after being struck by a car in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Jackson, 24, was a two-time All-Pac-12 selection who started 26 games for the Ducks during his college career. He recorded five interceptions and 28 pass breakups during his time at Oregon.

Jackson was drafted by the Vikings in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft and signed a four-year, $3.8 million contract with the team. He was expected to compete for a starting role in the Vikings' secondary this season.

The Vikings released a statement expressing their condolences to Jackson's family and friends.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Khyree Jackson," the statement read. "Khyree was a talented young man with a bright future. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time."
