Asalanka to Lead Sri Lanka in T20I Series Against India
Capless Allrounder Wickramasinghe Included in Squad
Sri Lanka will be led by Dasun Shanaka in the upcoming three-match T20I series against India, which begins on January 3. Opening batter Pathum Nissanka has been named as his deputy.
Uncapped 21-year-old allrounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe has earned a maiden call-up to the Sri Lankan squad. The right-hander has impressed with both bat and ball in domestic cricket and will be eager to make his international debut.
Sri Lanka will be without the services of several key players for the series, including Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, and Maheesh Theekshana. However, they will be boosted by the return of experienced campaigners such as Angelo Mathews and Dushmantha Chameera.
